2022 Drawing Commissions

2022 Drawing Commissions

I drew exactly zero drawings in January. I needed a break. That’s ok, sometimes I think – it’s good to take time off to clear your mind and refresh. Christmastime is especially a busy time for me, so taking some time to recover the holiday season is needed. Tomorrow is the first day of February, and I plan to get back behind the pen right away. I have some fun ideas for new styles to try out and expand on my quality. Since I don’t have any January drawings to recap, I thought this month I’d highlight some of my favorite 2022 drawing commissions.

This Jeep was a March commission for a friend and coworker. I love the light reflection in the black paint.

This Studebaker Cruiser series was for a client I met at the antique festival last year, Neal. This is his son’s first classic car, and what a cool and unique car it is!

I don’t just draw cars! I’m a pretty big Marvel fan, and this Quinjet was a fun commission for my friend Stan.

I love Miatas, and I’ve even said my old 1990 Miata was the best fun per dollar car I’ve ever owned. This Miata was actually a trade I made with my friend Brock.

I’m not usually a big AMC fan, but I absolutely love this AMX I made for Michelle – I just think the detail on the gray paper looks really nice.

I love drawing something different, and this Olds Hearse for David is exactly that! I love the red light reflections on the gray paper in this drawing!

Sometimes I get an extra challenge – I really enjoyed drawing this before and after set for Ron and Donna. The wire spokes were particularly time-consuming, but I really think they turned out great!

I drew this 1966 Ford truck for Kirk, and the Beetle was for his daughter. I was very excited about the marker rendering on both of these!

Sometimes I get repeat customers, which is really great! This Porsche was drawn for Jeff, who liked it well enough to come back for the Camaro!

Sometimes, I get work through word of mouth. I drew this fox Mustang for Tom to give to his dad as a gift, and then his parents commissioned his own Corvette for Christmas – what an awesome exchange!

This Polara was drawn for Connie – The grille detail was a challenge and I love the way the chrome turned out!

This beautiful Chevy Luv truck was for Rebecca – I drew the black and white cardstock sketch live at the show and the fully rendered drawing after! Thank you for the repeat business!

This beautiful Impala was drawn for Katie – I love the dark red paint!

These two Shelbys were drawn for Jeff. The Cobra was for him, and the GT500 for his son. What an awesome pair!

This awesome BMW X4 was drawn for Claire – I love the way the white pops on the toned paper.

This awesome mudding tow rig was drawn for Vette – the best part was getting to ride in the real thing!

This radical Ford custom was drawn for Alan, who won some awards at Frankenmuth this year! I find this car very sinister looking!

Alex commissioned this Buick race car – I love all the mechanical detail in the line work on this one!

This Chevelle for Theresa just screams wicked attitude! I especially like the graphics on the sides.

Finally, this W-body Grand Prix was drawn for Shevon. What a cool and unique little cruiser! These are just some of my favorite 2022 drawing commissions.

I’m really grateful to all my clients and customers who support me and local art. I believe everyone has a car story and using my art to summon memories is especially rewarding to me. To everyone willing to give their hard-earned dollars for a piece of my original artwork – Thank You.

Here’s to 2023 and all the new and fun stuff on the way! See you out there!
