November Car Art
Wow – It’s hard to believe, but 2022 is nearly over! This time of year, it’s difficult for me to share very much of what I’ve been working on because most of it will be given as Christmas gifts. I can share a few things, however, in this November car art recap!
I’ve been experimenting with this graffiti-style stencil painting. I’ve shared a couple other mediums that I’ve painted on, and the latest version is on this antique hub cap! It was difficult to get the stencil to lay right on the convex surface, but I think it turned out pretty well!
I wanted to prepare a few more Harry Potter book page sketches to make available for Christmas, and the first was this Dementor drawing. It turned out properly creepy, I think!
Next was another Deathly Hallows sketch in white, which I think lends to the creepy feel of the Elder Wand.
Last, I made another Hogwarts Express train drawing. I think this forced perspective harkens back to the art deco advertisement poster era. I’ll get these framed up soon and make them available for sale!
Wanting to expand a little from just simple framed wall art, I sketched on this wood arrow sign. This sign can point the way to your home bar, and the antique sedan delivery is bringing the barrels of beer!
Another wooden piece, this Hemi-powered hot rod truck sits in front of “Gone Racing” lettering. This smaller sign is perfect to hang on the tree, or hang it in the garage!
Lastly, I sketched this surf Volkswagen buggy based on a Super Beetle. I think the meaty tires look really cool on this sketch. Volkswagens tend to be pretty popular at shows, so hopefully someone will find this sketch will make a great gift. Our last art show of the year is coming up on December 10 at the Oxford High School here in our home town of Oxford. If you’re local, stop by and say hello!
That’s all I can share about my November car art journey, at least for now. Stay tuned for after Christmas – I’ve been working on a lot of very cool projects!
