Bullitt
The Steve McQueen film Bullitt is one of my favorite movies – not because it’s good or even really very entertaining until the end – but because of the incredible ten-minute car chase between two of my favorite cars – a Mustang fastback and a second-generation Dodge Charger.
Proportions were a bit of a challenge on this one. Here’s the rough sketch in pencil:
Then the initial line work in Micron 01:
I followed that with some depth using Micron 02:
From there, I filled in the shading with Faber Castell 1.5 and Sharpie.
Finally, I added Posca white and white acrylic paint for the reflective portions.
The Bullitt car was, of course, Highland Green, but I made this drawing in black and white – The Bullitt car is acknowledged in the license plate, JJZ 109.
