July Car Art
July has been a busy month! In fact, this year, we’ve done over twenty times the business that we had done at the same time last year! We’re definitely growing and I’m extremely grateful to everyone who has supported us this year so far. It’s a huge pleasure to be able to share my work with you. Here’s a recap of my July car art adventure.
I just finished this large 14×18 drawing of this beautiful 1979 Porsche 911SC for Jeff. The chrome wheels and 964 custom bumper really set this car off. This drawing was made using Micron pens and Copic markers on toned gray paper. Thanks Jeff for the opportunity to honor your beautiful Porsche!
I was also honored to make two 11×14 drawings for Kirk – one of his daughter’s Classic VW Beetle, and one of his gorgeous 1966 Ford truck!
This bug was drawn using Micron pens and yellow Copics on white cardstock. The convertible top in lowered position looks an awful lot like a Porsche spoiler!
This 1966 Ford was drawn using Micron pens and Copic markers on toned gray.
I thought the detail work in the chrome grille and bumper turned out really cool! Thank you for sharing these awesome vehicles with me, Kirk! I hope your daughter has a very happy birthday!
I started making these small 5×7 cardstock sketches in between customer discussions at shows.
They’re fun little pieces that I can sketch pretty quickly, and have for sale for $5 at the show.
Recently, I sketched this Corvair quick sketch to have available at shows after getting a ton of Corvair requests. It’s simple but it’s a fun little piece and is available at shows for $30.
I made this 1963 Chevy Nova drawing on cardstock for Jared, who I met last month at the Sloan Auto Fair. This ride proves that four doors deserve love, too! Thanks Jared for sharing this awesome ride with me!
Finally, we set up and vended at two shows this month. First, we visited the Marshall Cruise to the Fountain in Marshall, Michigan.
There was a lot of really cool iron at the Marshall Cruise!
Just yesterday, we set up and sold at the Mainstreet Memories show in Port Huron. This show was hands-down one of the coolest shows we’ve been to. There were so many cool cars, friendly people, and we sold a ton of art!
Thank you again to everyone who supported us and bought art! We’re a (very) small business and it brings me a lot of joy to share my work with others. Thanks for checking out my July car art, and stay tuned for next month – I think it’ll be even busier!
