Camaro Sharpie Sketch
Since it’s winter here in Michigan with few options for shows and festivals, I’m stocking up on inventory for when the weather gets warmer. Last year, I had a lot of requests for first generation Chevy Camaros. I made these sketches in January to be made into prints, but some customers want an original drawing. For them, I made this Camaro Sharpie sketch to frame and hang at shows this summer.
First-gen Camaros are always a big hit, and it’s surprising how many people have one! I started this sketch with a simple pencil sketch on white paper. Next, I lined the drawing with Micron pens, and finally shaded in the dark portion with a Sharpie.
I added a little cactus to the Camaro Sharpie sketch to give it an extra element of interest. I added the cactus to this Mercury sketch, and it was Jessie’s favorite part. This drawing is kind of like a photographic negative: the dark and light portions are reversed. I think it gives the drawing a unique hotrod-y tone.
I’ll frame this drawing in 8×10 and take it to shows this summer to sell. If you’re interested and it hasn’t sold yet, send me a message from the Contact page!
