Renault 5 Drawing
This week for Stefan’s Sunday Sketch Challenge, we were challenged to draw a Renault 5. They’re quirky little hatches, but the turbo version is pretty cool . Here’s my Renault 5 drawing of a turbo rally version.

I used this Renault 5 Turbo from Bring a Trailer as a visual guide. The Renault 5 was a front engine / front drive economy hatch built in the late ’70s through early ’80s. Renault made a motorsport version for Group 2 Rally called the Turbo 2 which relocated the engine to the rear and drove the rear wheels with a transaxle.
The drawing started off as a rough pencil sketch on toned gray paper.

Next, I retraced with Micron pen starting with 005 and working up to 03.
I started the shading with Copic grays, and yellow and blue in the lights.

Finally, I used white charcoal to shade the white reflections in the body, lights, and wheels, which finished off the Renault 5 Drawing.
