First Sketch of 2021!

One of my favorite artists – Stefan Marjoram – hosts a weekly challenge on social media for everyone to draw the same car using their favorite medium and technique. I thought it would be fun to join in this week with his prompt of Morris Minor 1000 as my first sketch of 2021!

First Sketch Scan

This was a fun car to draw, but I thought the original shape needed a little bit of proper hot rodding.

First Sketch Pencil

I started the sketch off with a rough pencil outline before moving on to Micron pens.

I first re-lined in Micron 01 and then added some atmosphere with Micron 08.

First Sketch Hatch

Next, I added in the hatch work with Micron 005. Finally, I popped it out a little with an outline using my Copic wide C3.

First Sketch Final
