1957 Chevy Four Door Drawing
As a thank you to my friend Roy at Detroit Stitching, I made this 1957 Chevy Four Door drawing for him.
Tri Five Chevys are among my favorites, and Roy has this car raked just right. I love the red steelies against the black body.
Here’s the rough sketch in pencil.
Next, I re-traced in Micron pen in a variety of weights. I really like how the linework came out on this drawing. Ship curves and French curves helped me make the lines crisp.
Next, I filled in the car with Copic markers. I used a variety of neutral grays for the body and scallop, and reds for the wheels.
Finally, I used Posca white to create the reflections and the outline that pops the car off the page. I really like like contrast in this 1957 Chevy four door drawing.
