1996 Corvette Collector Edition Drawing
I’m finishing up this week’s commission pieces with this 1996 Corvette Collector Edition drawing. This car is one of only 1,381 convertible Collector Edition cars built to celebrate the C4 prior to the following year’s debut of the C5. This particular car is improved with polished C5 staggered diameter five-spoke wheels.
I started roughing the car out in pencil on toned tan paper:
The C4 is not a particularly curvy car, and despite the relatively simple lines, it took some time to get the shape right. When I was satisfied, I lined the car with Micron 01.
Next, I shaded the car with Copic markers – mostly grays with a few small splashes of color. Finally, I added the shiny reflections with Posca white.
This 1996 Corvette Collector Edition Drawing is framed in 11×14 with an 8×10 mat.
Which do you like better – the 1996 Collector Edition Corvette or the 1978 Pace Car?
