Fireball 500 Barracuda
I’ve never been a big fan of the film – it’s pretty cheesy – but the George Barris-customized Plymouth Barracuda hero car is pretty cool.

The car was customized with custom fiberglass in the front and rear, dual side pipes down both sides, a futuristic chopped dual-cockpit, and a heavy rake.
I started this one off with Micron 01 and 03 weights, and then started in with the marker.

I used a combination of yellow-reds, reds, and orange to get the tangerine look – which I think turned out really well – and charcoal white on the front fenders. I thought the contrast was enough here that I didn’t both to put a white outline around the rest of the car. The whole thing pops pretty well on the toned tan without it.
