Style Experiment
Trying something new with the 1949 Mercury stock car.

I’m using Micron pen only for both the lining and the shading. This style throws back to that of more traditional hot rod art.
I love the aesthetic of early stock cars, back when they were actually “stock.” The 1949 Mercury is usually remembered for the “Lead Sled” style of hotrodding – chopped and dropped with flames, etc. – It’s a big bargy car. I think it’s fun to experiment with alternative uses for cars that have a stereotypical image.
