This Week in Review
It’s been a busy week! Here’s a recap of a few cool highlights.
The Detroit Autorama was this past weekend at Cobo. Lots of awesome rods, including this red Ford that sits perfectly with blacked out Steelies and white walls.
I was super pumped to get to meet one of my favorite artists, Chris Piscitelli. (I’m on the right, Chris is on the left). He makes some seriously cool art. You can check out his stuff here.
I had a few meetings at work this week and hammered out some rough sketches. Here is a Mustang Fastback in dirt track trim and a generic trophy truck. When I doodle at work, sometimes I’ll hang them up on my wall.
I read this rad book called Building a StoryBrand by Don Miller. It’s geared toward small businesses, directing them to create a story around their customer. The customer should be the hero and your business is the guide that helps them win the day. If you have a small business and want to see results, pick this book up. The clarity and directness make this book cause you to want to take immediate action. You can get more information and even create your own StoryBrand here.
I’m planning on using this framework to focus more on my customers and create a story around them. I think cars tell a story – we all have a car story – whether it’s your first car, a road trip memory, a TV show you once loved, or just a car that gets your juices flowing. What’s the car that speaks to you?
