Inktober 2019, Month in Review
This was my first Inktober, and it was certainly full of ups and downs (mostly ups). I was excited to start as we were just entering October, and I had a lot of fun all month long but it had me pretty worn down by the end.

The whole point of Inktober is to challenge yourself to get extra practice and to try new things – I certainly got a lot of both in. You discover new things about technique and about yourself – you have the opportunity to try styles that you may have otherwise been concerned would ruin a great drawing.
A few of the drawings were even accidentally good enough to frame.

Others were disappointingly bad. Some days were busy and made it tough to find time to get in a sketch. Other days I really just wasn’t feeling it and that came out in the quality of the sketch.

I had a lot of fun, but by the end of the month, I was ready to be done – it had me worn down. I’m ready to take a day or two break to reset and start focusing on some Christmas commissions.
