Herbie the Love Bug

Today’s Inktober prompt is “Misfit,” which makes me think of a very unconventional race car, Herbie the Love Bug.

I chose to make this drawing on Toned Tan paper to get the white reflections and side numbers to pop.

I started with just pencil outlines and filled it in with Copic markers. I really like the way the wheels turned out – big meaty race slicks on deep black gloss rims.
