Inktober 2019, Week 1
I thought I’d participate in “Inktober” this year, a collective event where artists challenge themselves to draw one picture each day in the month of October, based on a common set of daily one-word prompts (you don’t have to use the prompts if you don’t want to). Each day’s word is arbitrary, but I wanted to use the prompt to somehow correlate to a car or vehicle. Here we go:
Day # 1 – “Ring”
This is the Porsche 956, a race car that set multiple records at the NurburgRING in 1983.
Day # 2 – “Mindless”
This is a Citroen 2CV, a pretty silly car in itself, but just how much sillier would it be if it were made into a gasser style dragser…it would be Mindless…
Day # 3 – “Bait”
This is the Family Truckster from National Lampoon’s Vacation – the car that Clark Griswold was BAIT and switched for at the dealership. Here it is as a dragster just because I like dragsters.
Day # 4 – “Freeze”
This is Starsky & Hutch’s faithful Ford Gran Torino. They were, of course, police officers and would shout “FREEZE!” at the perps! I screwed up the hood – it looks like they wrecked. I really like the shading on it though.
Day # 5 – “Build”
At the behest of my wife, I made this Excavator that can BUILD stuff and dig holes.
Day # 6 – “Husky”
This is a Hillman HUSKY, a small British 2-door wagon made in the late 50s and 60s. It was powered by a small inline 4-cylinder, but this one was beefed up with a big turbo and Mickey Thompson drag slicks!
