1969 Pontiac GTO Judge

1969 Pontiac GTO Judge

A friend asked if I could draw the ’69 Judge, which is his favorite car. I prefer the ’70 with the Endura-bumpers, but the ’69 is definitely more iconic.

Toned tan paper was selected for this one – Usually these cars are seen in orange, so I thought it would be fun to draw in white and use a thin orange outline.

I started with 2-point perspective and boxed it in. The car is below the horizon which gives a semi fish-eye lens look.

From there, I roughed in the shape with #2 pencil. On this one, I used a protractor a lot to really get the body lines angled toward the vanishing points correct. It’s usually around this point that I forget to take any progress photos, because I sort of zone out and all of a sudden I’m done…So there it is – a 1969 GTO Judge on toned tan with white graphite pencil & Copic markers.
