American Airlines Jets

Happy Father’s day, Josh! These jets are for my best friend growing up and best man at my wedding, Josh. He is an engineer at AA and his awesome wife Caitlin asked if I could do a 757 & 767.

I started these a little differently than I typically would – these were roughed in with Copic Cool Gray 0 instead of ink pen.

Then Faber Castell ink over top:

Add some details with reds and blues:

Add a little more shading with Cool Gray 2 & 4 (6 & 8 in the shaded areas):

Add some darker lines for atmospheric perspective:

And finished off with some water-diluted blue and white acrylic paint for the sky:

The 757 was very much the same process, I just didn’t document the steps as well:

Both drawings are on Canson marker paper (which apparently doesn’t like acrylic paint a whole lot) and framed in 8×10 (5×7 matte).
