Happy Father’s Day!
This one is for the most selfless man I know, my step dad Charlie. Our family is a group of bourbon connoisseurs, so here is a bottle from Michigan’s Journeyman Distillery.
I started off roughing in the basic shapes using a straight edge, ellipses and french curves in #2 mechanical pencil.
Next, filled in some details and worked the lines a little with #2 regular graphite pencil.
I know this is a huge step, but the coloring consists of Copic yellows, oranges, and skin tone browns. The white reflections in the bottle are white graphite pencil.
Outlining is done primarily in Micron brush pen to get gradients in the wavy glass lines. #1 & #3 are also used for the basic outlines. Cool gray 2 is used for the shadow, and a little extra white graphite pencil for the shiny reflections on the ground. Paper is Canson Toned Tan.
Happy Father’s Day, Charlie!
