Toned Tan Rod
This 32 Ford hot rod was a quick sketch on Toned Tan paper. I tried to keep it very simple and clean as a call back to the artwork you might see in a 50s or 60s advertisement.
I started off using a Copic N2 neutral gray sketch marker to outline the shape – I thought N0 might be a little too light to see on the tan paper.
Then I did my line work using a Faber Castell 0.1mm ink pen.
I finished it out with Copic marker filling in the shading, being careful not to go too dark as I wanted to accent the sunset and horizon reflecting in the black paint. Finally, charcoal white rounds out the accents and background.
